HOW TO FLASH ALL MOTOROLA MOBILES :
THE BELOW INSTRUCTION IS USEFUL TO FLASH YOURÂ MOTO MOBILE.
To add any new Monster Pack, Font (Language Pack) or DRM to your 
phone you will have to flash your phone.
Flashing process is the same for all Motorolas. Before flashing you should know what it actually is. Briefly, its updating or writing code groups in your phone. There are different code groups in Motorolas, like CG1, CG2, CG3 etc. All the code groups combined form the Operating System of the phone, including all the stuff visible to you in phone memory. So flashing is changing all or some components of your phone’s OS. Flashing is the key for any modder to serious modding.
Here is what you need:
1. RSD Lite 2.5 or above (Available in downloads section, Motorola Modding Section > Tools for PC. I recommend RSD Lite because it supports all Motorolas. Install it. Get RSD Lite 3.5 by clicking here
2. Any flash file (example for L7 (08.D0 Bootloader, Non EOR): Click here to get Smiley Mod)
* You can use any other flashing software you like such as PST or Flash & Backup. Flash & Backup supports most phones, select your phone from the profile before flashing.
HOW TO FLASH : :
Charge your phone completely before following this process.
1. Turn off your phone.
2. Turn it on by pressing and holding down * + # + Power On Button (so that you are pressing all three at the end).
3. Your phone should start in bootloader mode, with a black screen and some stuff written.
4. Connect your phone to your pc using the data cable. If the phone says OK to program you are good to go.
5. Run RSD Lite. If you are using RSD Lite v2.8 or above, you will see a checkbox with “ODM Serial” written beside it. Make sure that checkbox in “unchecked”
6. If you havent previously installed the flash drivers, windows will detect some new devices, by the name of S Flash Neptune Device. If you have previously installed drivers for this device, you can skip the next two steps.
7. Tell the driver installation wizard to NOT connect to the internet and then tell it that you want to specify the location of the drivers.
8. Then browse to X:Program FilesCommon FilesMotorola SharedMotPCSDrivers (where X is the drive in which Windows is installed). Then press ok and the drivers would get installed. If windows detects more devices, follow this step again.
9. In RSD Lite you should see a device in the grid. Now press … button and browse to where you have kept the flash file. The flash file must be in .shx format.
10. Now press “Start”. RSD Lite would do the rest. DONOT disconnect your phone unless RSD Lite says Finished or Passed.
THATS IT!!!!
Precautions:
1. The phone should not get disconnected from your pc while the flashing is going on.
2. The phone and the PC should remain ON at all times while the flashing is taking place.
3. Always use a flash file which has been thoroughly tested and is for your phone specifically. For example:
- L7 running on 0A.20 bootloader cannot flash Monster Packs for those on 08.D0
- L7s running on EOR cannot flash any non-eor firmware. Same suit follows for those running on AER.
- V3is (non -iTunes versions) cannot directly flash MPs made for iTunes versions and vice versa
- Original E1 Rokrs cannot directly flash E398 Monster Packs and vice versa. However both can use Language Packs and DRMs made for each other.
- There are many other things to look out for, but webmasters normally categorise quite specifically the flash files, fortunately making these things easier for new modders.
4. Charge your battery before flashing.
Sometimes after flashing a DRM, even though RSD Lite says “Restarting Phone” the phone restarts and then shuts down. So in that case, dont panic, keep the phone connected and manually power up the phone. If it powers up alright, you can disconnect it.
You must also know that if any thing goes wrong while flashing you may end up with a dead phone
