Which version of symbian (or S60) do I own?
Our games and applications section is primarily divided into Symbians and Java Sections. Before downloading any games for your cellphones, please read the following:

1. Although java sections have sub categories such as games for Motorola, games for Sony etc, 90% percent of the games from Motorola section will run in other java enabled phones. Compatibility of java games is not so much on the manufacturer, but on the screen size. However games specifically for Sonys will not run on phones from other manufacturers.
2. All symbian phones can run java games, therefore, users of Nokia S60 series can test games from java games sections too.
3. Java phones, such as most Motorolas, most samsungs and sonys CANNOT run symbian (S60) games or applications.
4. Every Symbian phone has a certain class, known by the name of S60 v1, v2, v3 or in some cases by OS6, OS7, OS8 etc. S60 v1 phones cannot run games and apps from v2 or v3, S60 v2 phones cannot run games from S60 v3. Symbian OS software written for the S60 Platform 1st edition (S60v1) or 2nd edition (S60v2) is not binary compatible with S60 3rd edition (S60v3), because it uses a new, hardened version of the Symbian OS (v9.1). To make it simple:
- If you own version 1.2, games and apps compatible with what is called v1 will work in your phone
- If you own version 2.0 or 2.1, games and apps compatible with what is called v2 OS7 will work in your phone
- If you own version 2.6, games and apps compatible with what is called v2 OS8 will work in your phone. Here we have OS7 and OS8 section combined in S60 v2, but compatibility report with be provided within them when possible.
- If you own version 2.8, games and apps compatible with what is called v3 OS8.1 will work in your phone
- – If you own version 3.0, games and apps compatible with what is called v3 OS9.1 will work in your phone. Here we have downloads section for 2.8 and 3.0 combined. However a compatibility report will be provided when possible.
Hope this helps,
